U.S. Route 159 in Holt County from Route 111 to Rulo, Nebraska is now open

U.S. Route 159 in Holt County from Route 111 to Rulo, Nebraska is now open.

Route 111 also reopened between Route 118 and 159. Both routes closed due to flooding in late March. The roads were opened in September, but were closed again after 16 days.

The Little Tarkio Creek Bridge at Fortescue is closed and needs replacing, so 159 east of 111 will be closed until the bridge construction is completed, likely next spring, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. Traffic will be redirected from Interstate 29 at Mound City to 118, west to 111, and south to 159. Motorists should follow posted detour signs.
